No, as long as you do not red-line the vehicle. You do need to watch the revs, as you can damage the engine; but overall no worse than a manual tranny. I do it frequently, to average better 0-60 times...there are some shift kits made where you must manually shift a auto tranny (Transgo makes a good one), these will substantially improve 1/4 mi times, but are not the most streetable tranny mod. Additionally I often downshift a auto to reduce brake wear (I use racing pads=very dusty and short lifetime) and reduce braking distance. When downshifting thetranny will not allow the engine to over-rev on most new trannies, but you will still need to use caution to reduce engine/transmission wear. If you like to shift, but lkike the convenience of an auto, you may want to opt for a paddle-shift kit, although they are somewhat expensive.
Bad spark plug wires affect many areas of your vehicle. However, gear shifting in an automatic transmission is not one of them.
If it is a front wheel drive vehicle it could be a bad CV joint. In a rear wheel drive car it could be a bad universal joint.
There could be a number of reasons why the automatic stick will not go into gear on a 2006 Ford Taurus.A few of the things could be a bad shifter, low transmission fluid, or even a bad tranny.
They drive fast bcoz they have bad face.hahahaha
You need to replace the trans or rebuilted it if it's a stick shift the u have a bad gear if it a automatic then check the fluids in the trans if it good on fluid the it a bad trans or torque converter
1st step would be to change fluid and filter and see if any improvement
put it in drive gear and try and start it if it does start while in gear its bad if it doesnt its good.
bad cable
dont drive in 5th lol
yes,manual steering will do
could be a number of things cracked distributer cap, bad sparkplugs bad plug leads, setting, or bad igntion condensor if automatic transmission,it could be automatic idle adjustment on engine
An automatic transmission tends to last longer, especially with new drivers. It controls gear changes automatically at the proper RPMs. In a manual, there is a much greater chance of bad shifts, resulting in clutch and gear wear.
