Contrary to popular belief, he did not die for your sins or to save you, but to con you into a life or worshipping him and he father, an evil tyrant.

If God wanted to forgive you, he could have, but instead he makes you worship him and beg for forgiveness for being what he allegedly created. If you don't then he sends to eternal torture. He will punish those who do not believe in him, yet forgive and reward mass murderers, rapists, terrorist, thieves, paedophiles and so on (including Hitler) simply because they love and worship him.
If you wish to worshipsomeone from The Bible, then worship a good character, such as the snake, that risked everything for us to get the knowledge to see God for what he is, an evil tyrant.
However, a lot of Christians do not know this, and instead think Jesus is a wonderful person full of love. In this case you wouldn't be evil for worshipping him, just like someone wouldn't be evil for worshipping Hitler if all they knew about him was that he was a man who restored Germany after WWI.
