Marrying and getting an automatic green card no longer works in the US. If you marry, make sure the person you are marrying is doing it for the right reasons. Being married to someone with no legal right to be in this country can cause a lot of stress in a marriage. You can't take normal vacations, he or she is limited on jobs and education, driving is restricted, etc... You can get married here legally in the US, but it won't lead to an green card if the person came into the country illegally. Most likely the inital petition will get approved, but the applicant will have to go back to Mexico for ten years. Assuming that this person doesn't have any serious offenses, then he or she can reapply for a visa. If the person goes back to Mexico and you get married, you will still have to admit to his or her illegal presence in the united states. At this point, he or she may still have to remain in Mexico. Talk to an Immigration laywer for the particulars of this situation.
