Humans are all curious beings and most people will want to 'compare' ourselves with one another, it doesn't make the person gay unless he/she fantasies about having sexual encounter with that person.
Some do, some don't. It depends on the person.

You are gay if you are sexually or romantically attracted to the same sex. Your sexual fantasies will mostly be about the same sex, and they have been like that for some time. That's how you know.
No, it is normal in public or school showers, that's why they are made this way.

Actually, most men do this -- it's an instinct! We tend to compare ourselves to other guys, to size them up as potential enemies or friends. But staring can be considered a challenge or a threat.
It's gay only if you're thinking sexual thoughts about the other man.
