Lower settings give sharper images. Higher settings require less light. Up to ISO: 400 is good because it allow you to take pictures at night, or in darker settings. Higher ISO numbers allow you to take pictures in less light, but increases the risk of more and more "digital noise".

The lowest ISO in a camera is about ISO 50.

Which Digital Camera has the highest ISO setting?

ISO settings indicate the sensitivity of a DSLR camera. Most DSLRs offer 100 to 1600 ISO settings. The highest end cameras feature settings from 50 to 3200 or even 6400 ISO. The Kodak DCS digital camera is the highet ISO camera on the market with 6400 ISO.

What is camera film speed?

It's how sensitive the film is to the light. Which is measured in ISO. If you use a film camera. The film box should say what ISO it is. If you have a digital camera, you can adjust it in certain modes in the menu. For more details you can check out http://www.geofflawrence.com/photography_tutorial_ISO_film_speed.htm

What is meant by the term ISO when using a Digital Camera?

Is there more digital noise in a high iso picture or a low iso picture?

High ISO pictures will tend to generate more noise, but the camera and lens used will have an impact when doing comparisons. Camera ABC may have a full frame sensor and a fast lens, and can thus hit ISO of 3200 with no problem, whereas camera XYZ has an APS-C sensor and a consumer lens and produce the same amount of noise at only ISO 800.

What are the features of a Nikon D3000 digital camera?

This camera has a 10 megapixel resolution capacity and is a digital SLR. Supports SD and High Capacity SD memory cards for data storage. Includes an image stabilization lens system. Is capable of 100-1600 ISO.

What negative effect is observed in a digital camera when raising the ISO?

currently, it raises "noise" in a photo. In a few years, there's a good chance there will be no negative effect.

What does a digital photo taken at a high ISO speed contain?

What is noise in digital photography?

Digital photography noise is a common occurrence in photography when the setting of the ISO is too high or if you are using a cheap digital camera. When you press the shutter on your camera, light hits the sensor, and an analog signal is produced, which is converted to a digital image. If, during this time, something messes up the particles creating the analog signal, then noise is produced. Noise can be reduced in Photoshop www.goldprints.com

Why does high ISO come with high noise in a digital camera?

Increasing the ISO doesn't make the CCD more light sensitive. It merely amplifies the camera's circuitry. This grabbing of extra light information leads to higher noise. In recent years, great strides have been made in noise-reduction, both in hardware and software. The Canon EOS 500D (also known as EOS Rebel T1i) has a low noise rating all the way to ISO 3,200.

How do you change your ISO on a digital camera?

Most cameras have a built in button for the ISO function. You can click on it and then change the number. If there's isn't a button you should check the different settings menus for that option.

What does ISO 400 speed mean?

'ISO' refers to the speed at which electronic image sensors (in digital cameras) and film (in film cameras) react to light to form a picture. So ISO 400 is just one particular setting from the range of options on your camera.'ISO' is not an acronym for a technical detail of the sensor. It simply stands for the organisation who devised the system and determined the measurements: International Organization for Standardization. The system is more or less standardized across film and digital photography., with the same aperture and shutter speed values, a film and a digital camera set to ISO 400 would produce similar results in terms of exposure. It's a decent rule of thumb to stick to ISO 100 (or the lowest option on your particular camera) whenever possible. The higher the ISO, the lower the quality of the image. So with a faster sensor/film (which makes low light digital photography much easier) you sacrifice some quality.Whilst digital cameras are capable of ISO speeds much faster than 400, and the image quality at this speed will remain quite good, it is faster than required for most shots.
