At least within the USA, there are no laws about ages and dating. There are laws however governing what is and is not legal to do when dating. For example - in most jurisdictions it is statutory rape if a person over the age of 18 has sex with a person under the age of 18. The law does not distinguish between guys and girls in this respect, but it has historically been applied differently - a guy having sex with a younger woman would be prosecuted, but a woman having sex with a boy would not. That has been changing though. The law didn't change, but the way it was applied has definitely changed with more women being charged with crimes for sexual acts with minors.
Note that most jurisdictions have "Romeo and Juliet" laws that govern how sex between minors is treated. It is still considered illegal since neither party is of an age to give legal consent to sex, but if there is only a small age difference, then the law reduces or eliminates the penalties. For example if one of the participants was 15 and the other 16, they probably would not be charged with a felony. If one of them was 17 and the other was 12, they probably would be charged with a felony.
In some countries the laws are different - restricting any contact between boys and girls until marriage, so you need to know the local laws if you want to stay out of trouble.
