Most countries and states would consider having two driver's licenses as illegal. In most places you would have to turn one in to get the other. If you lost one and got a replacement, it wouldn't get you in trouble unless you let someone else use it.

∙ 11y agoAs in, you lose your original, have a duplicate made, find your original again, and now you have two copies of your license? No, that's not illegal, provided all the information is the same (DL number, address, etc.). Having two different license numbers is illegal, as is having active licenses from more than one state.

∙ 13y agoPossession of multiple licences issued by different states or with different ID numbers is illegal. Having a duplicate of your original licence (for example, you lose the original, get a duplicate, find the original later) is not.
