An Really cool exotic pet that you do not need a permit for is a pet rock. Pet rocks love to be loved and ride in the car . They eat nothing and love walks you can teach your pet to do tricks. Sometimes they bite and stay calm be very stern and say no!

∙ 13y agoNot at all! Exotic pets are all over the United States. To list a few: Foxes, Ferrets, Parrots, Genets, Alligators, various reptiles, primates, big cats, ect. Now, whether they make good pets varies from person to person, but they are certainly legal in the US, but make sure to check your state laws, as some states ban certain exotic pets.
Before buying a exotic pet, do your homwork on the animal in question. NEVER buy an animal just because you think it's cute. Remember: Just because you want the animal, doesn't mean you are right for it.

EDIT: Most states do not require an exotic animal license to own a ferret, but check your local fish and game department just to be sure.

∙ 13y agoMost states and cities in the United States forbid the ownership of foxes and other native fur bearing animals. In Texas, they can not be held as pets because they are potential vectors for rabies. Stick with domestic animals such as dogs and cats.
