The age of majority in GA is 18. You can leave home at 17 if your parents agree to allow it or you've been emancipated in some manner.

My Answer: Actually, a 17-year old in Georgia can now go to prison (as an example, one may recall the high school football star who has already served three years of a 10 year sentence for being with a 15 year old). This creates a loophole in Georgia law. You cannot be kicked out until age 18 (or legally sign Contracts), but you may leave on your own at 17 and cannot be forced to return or be charged as a runaway. Don't believe it? Call the police and ask.

Actually because i am dealing with the same situation.

They changed the law in 2009 because the parents were complaining about their children leaving and the parents still being responsible for the child's actions.

I Have just very recently tried to leave but my father went to a juvenille judge and they said that you can not leave in the state of Georgia till you are 18 but you can leave when your 17 with parental consent. And the whole you cannot be charged as a runaway is not true either. You can be sent to juvy. even before they made this law in 09 your parents could still try to prove you as an unruly child and make you stay at home till you were 18. anways bottom line, without parental consent you cannot leave your house until you are 18 unless you are emancipated, or you get pregnant and get married

While there are no laws about what age you have to be to date, there are laws about sexual activity depending on the state. That is way too young to risk even a hint of impropriety, it could ruin the older one's life. And there really isn't a reason for someone in high school to be dating someone that young. In most places you have to be at least 16 to consent, if not 17 or 18.

There have never been any laws about dating. However, the age difference and the 14 year old being under the age of consent for sexual contact is a problem. The 18 year old is taking a big risk and could end up with a criminal record if even accused of doing something.

If you are the legal guardian or parent with full custody of a 17 year old child, and you do not want him living elsewhere, you can have him arrested as a run away.

I don't think it is, because i think the 23 year old in Indiana would be considered like a paedophile or something.
