Leaving Home

The parents of an non-emancipated minor have the custody and control of such minor. This means that the parents can legally decide where the minor lives until the minor reaches the age of majority (usually 18) or otherwise becomes emancipated.

If a minor moves away from the home of his or her parents or legal guardians without their permission, that minor can be picked up by authorities as a runaway. Depending upon the state, there may be an evaluation stage in which the situation is reviewed to insure that the individual is not endangered by being returned to the home. Some states have recognized that minors that are 16 or 17 are often considered questionable as to their ability to leave home. Authorities may not want to deal with minors in this age group and some states are establishing legislation enforcing the age of majority and eliminating any questions in the eyes of the law enforcement community.

Check with your local laws for more specifics. If you are in an unsafe environment, law enforcement personnel can put you in contact with the appropriate agencies to obtain help.

No you can not get into trouble for dating a 27yo at 16 unless your parents do not approve. At 16 in Michigan you have reached the age of consent and can even legally have sex with anyone from 16 and up.

We laugh when anyone gets in trouble. I don't know WHY we do. We just find it humorous that when we get in trouble or someone we know get in trouble.

I'm not sure if it is illegal but I do know if her parents or anyone one of her family members doesn't like it you can get in trouble. Or if you kiss her and her parents don't want you guys to be together they can either have you break up or get you in trouble.

Music shouldn't get anyone in trouble. It can be an expression of emotions or a way to communicate. The only way to get in trouble from music is if you interpret it in a way that leads to trouble coming your way.

Mature grownups, anyone over 18, or anyone under 18 with their parents permission.

User Avatar

Very much yes. At 16 she is a minor and still the responsibility of her parents. Anyone who helps her is also in trouble for helping a runaway.

No a girl who is 18 cannot get in trouble for dating a 16 year old. You will only get in trouble if you are over a certain age and dating anyone under 16, I believe. But no you will not get in trouble for tht.

At 16 she is considered a minor in her state (age of consent in Cali is 18) and there is no such thing as parental consent. A minor can not give consent because legally she is not considered mature enough to do so and the parents, or anyone else, also have no right to do so. So yes, both you, and her parents, can get into trouble for this. I'm also quote appalled that parents would plan, by give "consent", to having their 16yo impregnanted at such a young age.

There is no way any reputable registration would register your dog without having the proper pedigrees on the parents of the animal. And they do extensively check the pedigrees on both parents before they will register a litter of puppies or a single dog, So if anyone tells you to just put some false papers on the parents and you will get the papers they are not being truthful with you and you can get in a lot of trouble for falsifying information and giving it to a registry.
