It's not necessary to remove the tank but the job will be much easier if you raise the tank up a bit and remove the air cleaner.

I,m not sure but I don't think they are designed to be lubed. Call a harley dealer.
You can just raise the tank a bit without removing it altogether. It also helps to remove the air cleaner to get more working room.

The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body. If you follow the throttle cables to the throttle body the TPS will be on the oposite side of the throttle body as the cables attach to.

Remove the cables from the 1995 Harley-Davidson Road Tank motorcycle starter. Remove the retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter. The starter turns the engine over so it can start.
