Sounds to me that you have a Well oiled machine, I would say that is normal, especially if you have a high volume oil pump installed (Melling, Etc). 40psi at idle is darn good, 70psi always runs the risk of blowing oil pass the bearings, If this is a Stock application, Be Happy, should get you 200,000 miles or more w/ regular oil changes >2500 to 3500 miles.
