Yes it is very normal. Over 80% of men are shy, and some so shy it's extremely frustrating for them. Give me a shy guy anytime because few are not arrogant, they are a lot less likely to cheat on their mate. They really want to be able to talk to the girl they are interested in, but it causes a lot of pain for them and they fear rejection with a vengence. They never want the feeling of being humiliated. Actually he asked me out and I like him. But I am married with some problems in my marriage, so I nicely refused and told him the truth. He said we could be friends.
