Being pregnant myself I can tell you it is perfectly normal if it follows these loose rules:
1. The pain is similar to period pains and is not absolutely agonising.
2. It's restricted to the sides of your belly, more in line with your hips.
3. It comes and goes.
During this stage of pregnancy there is a lot of pulling and stretching of ligaments as your body changes shape, after all your uterus has gone from being the size of a small lime to already about the size of an orange! Something , somewhere has to have some sensation and unfortunately it happens to be painful - but I would say more like a cramp.
I found the best thing to do was to make a hot drink and have some paracetemol, it gradually fades this way. But you need to relax.
If you are at all concerned it is best to consult your midwife, that's what they are there for.
