From the 1996 Ranger manual
For 4x2 vehicles with automatic transmission - Transmission in Neutral, max speed of 35 MPH, max distance is 50 miles.
Or, you can disconnect the drive shaft - then the maximum speed is 55 MPH with no distance limits.
If you tow it with all 4 wheels on the ground (or even just the back wheels) and fail to disconnect the drive shaft, you will do major damage to the differential - it will overheat, and possibly catch fire.
For the 4x2 with manual transmission - put it in neutral, be sure the brake is released, and there are no limits.
Ford manuals are available at www.motorcraftservice.com, click on the "Owner's Guide" link on the left side of the page. They only go back to the 1996 model year though.
the dealer could do it, bet my bottom dollar they wont though.
yes and no... u could find a best auto shop out there than the dealer and better price.
I'm not sure where you're from, but you should find plenty of information on their website- http://www.jpcycles.com/. There are forums and a customer service area that should be able to help you find a dealer near you.
You could expect to pay an average price of $9,200 for the 2008 Ford Ranger Regular Cab model that has about 50,000 in mileage. You could expect to pay an average price of $16,000 for the Ford Ranger Super Cab model that has about 50,000 in mileage.
All you need is a Toby box and you will be all set. Any size Ranger/Sheriff should fit good and be more sound than you could even imagine. Toby ranger box.... Mmmmmmmm
It is hard for a non mechanically inclined person to determine if the guy at dealer is an idiot or not so just get opinions from different places. Let them know dealer looked at it and you only want to pay if they can fix it.
I bought one in 1962 from a chevrolet dealer. Do not think you could purchase one in 1961 from a dealer.
Order one from you Honda dealer, should be less than 100 buck's.
Obviously a Honda dealer should be able to get one for you. Also, you could try the below link:
Find a dealer
if standard engine, you could pull specs for engine online, or any dealer of that vehicle could tell you. should also be in owners manuell if you have it
Well, that's kind of a 'hit and miss' question if you will. There should be a metal tag attached to the outside of the rear differential cover. Remove it and take it to a Chevy dealer and they could definitely tell you what the gear ratio is.
