My shingles appeared on a Saturday, so I went to a local walk-in clinic. They suggested I use Neosporin on my shingles. For me, it was a bad idea. Instead of the shingles being spots, it is now a solid mass that has expanded, so I went to my GP doctor on Tuesday, who said I should not have put the neosporin on the shingles. The neosporin appeared to inflame my shingles, making them worse. He told me to clean with a very gentle soap like Ivory soap, and use Calamine lotion. I also bought Aloe and a diaper rash cream as suggested on-line. My shingles are on my neck, collarbone, scalp, jaw and cheek, and shingles can leave scars, so I am trying several things.

As long as if it's the neosporin WITHOUT pain reliever. The pain reliever is toxic to chickens.

There is no "OK" or "Not OK" to it. You either have the shingles symptoms or you don't. It would be exTREMEly unusual for someone as young as age 14 to exhibit shingles symptoms.

If you have minor burn then you can use Neosporin on it. But when the burned area is large and severe then one should not use Neosporin. The Neosporin is only applied to the external areas.

I had a biopsy of a cyst on my index finger and I was told to use polysporin ointment twice a day to keep it moist. I dont have the polysporing instead i have the neosporin spray.
