Definitely. Sexual orientation and gender identity are two distinct concepts. Therefore it's perfectly possible for someone to be transgendered and gay.
On a personal level I do know a trans woman who is also a very butch lesbian. Gender identity is about how you feel, not necessarily about conforming to heteronormative gender roles (look up "heteronormativity" on Wikipedia if you don't know what that means).
But yes, in summary, it's possible for a "man" (trans woman) to be attracted to women in the same way that a cisgender woman could be attracted to women.

A transgender person can be attracted to someone the same gender as the one they themselves were assigned at birth, so from a certain point of view it may look like gay and transgender people are the same. The difference is that a gay man still identifies primarily as male.

The son and his mother in law may be attracted to one another sexually but not be in love. She can still love her husband but is sexually satisfied by his son. Such an act if the father found out would be grounds for divorce, and the son banished from the home.

If your partner is a female-to-male (F2M) transexual, simply put, NO! Your partner would identify as male so you would still be straight. Some F2Ms, if not all of them would find it offensive if there partner still classed them as female.
