If your parents entered the US illegally or overstayed a visa, then you and they are not properly documented. There is not currently a process for undocumented aliens to begom US citizens. You would have to leave the US, re-enter legally and complete the residency requirements from that point. (sometimes exceptions are made, but that usually requires help from lawyers or immigrant aid organizations. If you were brought to the US in a legal and documented manner, have been here five years and are now 21 years old (or perhaps 18), then you can become a citizen. Young minor children of aliens become citizens when their parent does, but that stops at somepoint in the teenaged years. After that the child must become old enough to take citizenship on his or her own.

A person can become a citizen of the US by 1) birth in the US 2) birth abroad to US citizen parents 3) naturalization
The same way as a British - born in Lagos to British parents - become a Nigerian citizen. Citizenship has to do with the place where one is born.
The info I have on him doesn't state he became a citizen, so it is possible he didn't.
Absolutely. The child can become a US citizen through its parents who are US citizens. The child has to apply for citizenship by filing in Form N-600 to obtain the certificate of citizenship. The child should be under 18 years of age in order to document their citizenship status. Even if the child was born outside the US, it will become a US citizen though its US citizen parents.
A child becomes a citizen if they were born on U.S. ground if the parents are U.S. citizens of the United States.
Born in the United States with/without parents citizens, become a citizen through taking classes and the citizenship test, serve in the US military.
A US citizen is someone who was born in the United States, or who was born abroad but his or her parents were US citizens at the time. Also, a person can naturalize to become a citizen.
It is not possible to become a Canadian Citizen just by marrying a Canadian citizen. Citizenship cannot be acquired by marriage in any country.
I have more of a comment: I noticed in my research that it seems harder for a person who was brought here as a child when they had no say than for and adult who is here illegally. Why are there more ways for a CAnadian to be here legally than a Mexican national. Especially, ones brought here as children.
You become a u.s citizen after living here for more than 5 years
