The only 'reproducing' vampires are the ones that make 'physical contact.' A psychic vampire is a classical vampire that has found a means to steal life-energy while skipping the blood-sucking mechanics. So the psych-vampire can reproduce but only if he reverts to his old habits.
Such a vampire however is still in need of collecting physical nourishment from time to time. They cannot perpetuate their bodies indefinitely by just stealing life-force, they do need to either, suck blood occasionally, eat, or photosynthesize nourishment from earth, air, water, and sun-light like a plant. Now the blood-sucking type would be the usual form. A vampire that could also eat would be a lucky vampire indeed but such have actually existed. A photo- or chemo- synthetic vampire is almost ridiculous to consider HOWEVER there is one account I have come across 'The Shunned House' by Edgar Allen Poe, where a buried 'vampire' was able to collect life-force from the residence of the house built over-top of him and still grow to a monstrous size. He must been able to convert life-energy into some kind of chemosynthesis with the soil around him.
Actually, as I understand it, several psy vampires working in concert are in fact able to do so, but at incredible risk to both the vamps and the person they are draining, so much so that it isn't worth trying.

well, the best way for a human to become a vampire is: 1. use a spell/hex to trade your soul with a demon for vampirism. 2. have a vampire bite you and then drink the blood of the vampire (your new master) who bit you "though you may be in pain for a few days as return." 3. be born a hybrid and drink of the human blood to fully become one. 4. have a vampire drain your energy. and it is impossble to be born a vampire, the only possible way is to be born a hybrid and then drink the human blood when older to have the full effect.
