No, you can't over run, or over exercise an Australian Shepherd. They will lie down when they have had enough. They love to play and run and you will grow weary before they do.
I don't know what the fastest Australian Shepherd can do, but I have an Aussie and she can top out at about 37 mph!
Don't let your children run with the him/her while in training stages as the natural shepherd instincts will come in. My puppy quickly grew out of it in a couple of months.

With what you run them over with, it depends. If you run them over with a scooter, it most likely will not break. If you run them over with an industrial pile driver, then you might break it. It is possible to break certain rocks by running them over.
