Turning on the radio will not cause your car to vibrate. The only thing I can think of that would even be remotely possible is that the alternator is barely working enough to keep the battery charged. The extra load of the radio could possible cause the engine to miss. This is highly unlikely, but remotely possible. Have the charging system checked.
If you turn up your interior dashboard light settings, then the radio display will be brighter too. The radio dims to the setting for the dashboard when the lights are turned on.
Turn your car on, so that the radio can be turned on and off. Then turn your radio off. After is it off, push the clock button and while holding clock, use seek to change the hour and tune to change the minutes.
It is not an uncommon occurence for the display to go out. The display on my JGC premium Infinity sound system went out around 125,000 miles. The display on my Grand Am went out not long after I bought the car new. What causes this? It's electrical, and power surges are suspected in decreasing the life of electrical components dramatically. Always turn your radio off before getting out of your car and be sure it's off before starting it. This will reduce the events of power surges when starting your car with the radio on.
You Turn Me On - Like a Radio - was created in 1984-10.

With the key on, turn the radio off and you will see the display on how to set the hours and minutes.

If the display is not on when you turn the ignition on. First you check the fuses. radio memory is usually run with the courtesy light fuse. The main radio fuse is marked radio. Second you pull the radio out and test the power leads to the radio. If you have no power then there may be a short in a wire. If there is power on the power leads then the radio must be replaced.
Read the owners manual. Turn the key to the on position (not start) with the radio off. Wait 10 seconds. Press the "display" button on the radio and hold for 10 to 12 seconds. the radio display will light up . PRESS "display" and "1" to select functions. display i think is enter . read owners MANUAL. It's really simple. Turn the key on but not to start the engine. Make sure the radio is off and hit the "display" button for a couple of seconds, the big knob on the bottom on the left of your radio until the "settings" display shows. Hit the scan button to the right until "Tire pressure" comes up. Hit # 1 on your radio select buttons until it says "reset". Push the "display" button until you hear a "beep". Press the scan button a couple of times until it says "exit" then press "display". After it "beeps" you're all done. If you had an owners manual why would you ask for help.
There are a couple of possibilities of what is wrong with your radio, but I doubt it needs any "adjustment": First, if the Power button and Volume knob are separate, it is possible that your power button is function, but your volume knob is broken, if so, chances are you would have to take it to a TV/Appliance Repairman (if you can find one in this day and age) or just buy a new radio. Second, its possible that in the back of the radio, on the wiring harness, the output wiring that goes from the radio receiver itself to the cars speakers has been cut, frayed, or become pinched in the dash, but the power cable from car's battery into the radio is still good, allowing the radio to turn on, but not allowing you to hear it. Third, its possible that while the internal components of the radio that control the display and the associated input power are good, the components of the radio that process sound have gone bad, allowing for the radio to turn on, but not "work". Finally, its possible that your vehicle is equipped with a stock amplifier that the speakers are wired directly to, and that it has gone bad, which is allowing the radio to turn on and produce sound, but not be heard.
If you cut off the hot power that goes to the radio all of the time, that will turn the clock off BUT you will not have any display or presets.
with car on Press 1 and 6 at the same time, turn the radio on, then enter the 8 digit Serial Number exactly as it apears on the display.

Resetting the radio unlocks it and restores it to its normal operating condition. Turn the key to acc to allow the radio to come on, wait for it to display CODE, and then enter your 4 didgit radio code. If you make a mistake, turn the key off and on, and try again. If you make 5 mistakes, turn the key on to acc, wait 1 hour, and it will reset.
