The Guru Granth Sahib is placed on the Manji (a stool) The Manji is on the Takht (a raised platform) and its all cover by the Palki (canopy)
In the canopy in the Gurdwara
The Guru Granth Sahib is a living Guru and must be treated with respect. The Guru Granth Sahib is carried over ones head as a sign of respect. A Guru Granth Sahib usually has a bedroom or resting area in any Gurdwara. If a Guru Granth Sahib is kept at home it must be placed in the highest room in a house. It would be totally unacceptable to find a Guru Granth Sahib in a library for example. Hope this helps
they are a langar hall, a kitchen, the temple, the place where you take of ur shoes, and the place where u put the guru granth sahib
To keep the Granth Sahib Ji as pureified as possible, from dust falling over it, and to avoid anyone walking over the palki sahib, It is prohibited to walk on top of the palki sahib ( and floor for example)
The Guru Granth Sahib is in Gurmukhi
The Guru Granth Sahib is placed on a raise bed of cushions (normally predominantly red and yellow) and covered with cloth made of the finest silk.
Guru Granth Sahib is not a place or builiding, but it is the name of the holy book of Sikhism. It is like The Bible, Quran or Gita. The gurudwara (temple for the sikhs) are holy and the main gurudwara is called the Golden temple which is located in Amritsar, India.
What the people do at the golden temple is they prey to there guru and sometimes they can read the holy book. (Guru Granth Sahib)
we view guru granth sahib as a guru
The Guru Granth Sahib Ji is believed to be such a sacred object for Sikhs because the holy book contains precious hymns and teachings from the guru's. This is why Sikhs respect the Guru Granth sahib ji in an orderly fashioned way by going to the Gurdwara ( Sikh temple )
The Guru Granth Sahib is a book similar to our bible but there are several significant differences. Firstly our bible is the documentation of God and of Jesus and of creation and Jesus's and his disciples lives. The Guru Granth Sahib is considered to host God and the Gurus. The Guru Granth Sahib is seen as a living Guru and is treated with much reverence, Christians would happily find a copy of the bible in the library or for sale on the Internet. To Sikh persons this would be highly offensive. The Guru Granth Sahib is treated as a living Guru. It has its own bedroom/rest room within the Gurdwara (Sikh temple) and is placed there every evening and brought out every morning. It is attended when it is in the temple and is fanned and protected from the heat as you would a person.
