What are the differences between Jesus and Guru Nanak?

Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the founder of what is called Sikhism. He started the religon and wrote 974 verse in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the tenth Guru. He named the Sri Guru Granth Sahib (Sikhs Holy Scripture) as the last Guru to try to prevent further changes in Sikhism. He also founded the Khalsa (saint-soldiers) on April 13th, 1699. This was an order of Sikhs who were founded to defend the defenseless in the name of Waheguru (God). At one time it was said you could go up to a Khalsa and slap him (or her) and he (or she) would not strike you, however if you attacked another person they would try to stop you. For that purpose they carried a Kirpan (hand of mercy) which is a knife or sword. Unfortunately some groups view the Khalsa as the only true Sikhs. However the current Guru of the Sikhs, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, says otherwise. They are not different in anyway except there physical body. Guru Nanak Dev Ji said that he would have the same soul but in 10 diffrent forms and they will build a new race know as the khalsa.

Whom you should make your 'guru'?

There are many attributes of a Guru are provided by the Sikh and Hindu Holy men in their writings. I will endeavour to list some. Guru is only one of the entire world through all ages. He is one with God, therefore can lead us to all truths and light. Without Guru there is no knowledge and salvation. One cannot make his Guru any body unless true Guru chooses him to be his follower. People have wrong concept of a Guru. They call any one guru who has followers these days, and in my view they are all false ones. The true Guru is only one of the whole universe. He is centre of all major scriptures. His glory and praise is sung by all holy men of God, because they received true knowledge and enlightenment from this universal Guru. In GuruGranth Sahib it is mentioned many times over that the glorious work that has been done by this universal Guru for the children of men is praised in the Vedas, Quran, Bible, and in Sikh Granth. Guru cannot be a book, He is outside that, an eternal being. I know this Guru. This is Jesus Christ. I can back it up by references from the Sikh Gurbani.

What god do Sikh people worship?

The same one God that is worshiped by all monotheistic religions, They call him Waheguru.WAHEGURU or Vahiguru also spelt and pronounced Vahguru, is the distinctive name of the Supreme Being in the Sikh dispensation, like YHWH in Judaism and Allah in Islam. They view all, or at least these major, religions as differing in worship, but describing the same inherent God. They regard the differences between the various religions akin to looking at the same thing from different viewpoints since all the major religions agree to this deity's inherent nature (compassionate, all-knowing, all-seeing, etc.). Sikhs believe that there is only one god that created all of us, that created everything.AnswerSikh people worship in a place called a "Gurdwara." The word gurdwara means "the door of the Guru" (Guru means Teacher and Dwara means door.) It houses the book that Sikhs venerate, the Guru Granth Sahib. In the gurdwara any type of person can come into the gurdwara, no matter the colour, religon.

Why did guru gobind singh start Khalsa?

Since the time of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the relationship between the ruling power Mughals and the Sikhs began to deteriorate. Guru Arjan Dev Ji was the first martyr of Sikhs, Guru Hargobind was imprisioned in Gwalior by the Mughal ruler Jahangir. Then the ninth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed by Mughal ruler Aurangzgeb.Guru Gobind Singh Ji lost his 4 fours, wife and mother while fighting with the Mughals. Please note, Guru Tegh Bahadur was the father of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Considering the reason for all these conflicts between Sikhs and Mughals was one's freedom to practice one's faith. Historically, except Akbar all other Mughal Emperors of India from Jahangir, Shahjahan, Aurangzgeb were intolerant rulers and thus disliked the growth of any other religion except their own. From the time of Guru Arjan Dev Ji to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, all Sikhs guru fought for the freedom of one's right to practice one's faith. As most Mughal ruler were Muslims they were interested in converting others into accepting Islam. One very prominent example was the case of Kashmiri Brahmins who appraoched Guru Tegh Bahadur as Aurangzgeb wanted them to quit Hinduism and accept Islam. Guru Tegh Bahadur accepted the request of Kashmiri Brahmins and faced Aurangzgeb which resulted in Guru Tegh Bahadur's execution but he didn't accept Islam. Therefore, eventually Guru Gobind Singh Ji created Khalsa and its creation was not any development of any ritual or any new practice but since each one of us hold our own view and that we have our right to hold our view, thus creating Khalsa was to give a Sikh an identity of its own.It was and it is not to be meant to separate itself from other but to hold its own distinct position. Please note historically speaking there are many situations where Sikhs and Muslims have faced each other but these should not reflect on position on the Sikh Gurus and Sikh Bhagats who throughout maintained oneness of the God and have used not just their own distinct names of God but even Hindu names as well Muslims names of God in the Sikh Holy Book. If a student don't study well, it is the student who is to be blamed not the teacher who teaches all the same. In the same way, Akbar was tolerant enough to see equality in all but the rest fell short of his view, therefore the conflicts was with Muslims not with Islam. The point here is that God has given every single individual the right to listen and obey his/her word and thus no one has the right to impose or question anyone the right to practice one's faith.
