Not at all. You can facilitate that by putting a piece of tape with your name on the bottom of the plate - or otherwise marking the plate. Parties can get busy and sometimes the host/hostess won't remember who belongs to which plate.

No, it is not rude. When handing over the plate, simply ask the host/hostess to please ensure you get the plate back.

How do you tell your parents you want to switch back to briefs?

from my personal experience, it is best to wait until you reach your mid-thirties, and bring it up at a dinner party with many guests. Then, you make a toast and casually slip in the big question. best of luck.

Is it correct to say 'I had gone for dinner' or 'i had gone to take dinner'?

"I had gone for dinner" can be used to say: (past tense) that you went out to get dinner and bring it back - you could instead say: I had gone to get dinner. Alternatively, it could mean (past tense) that you went out to eat dinner - you might want to say: I had gone out to eat dinner. Or, it could mean (past tense) that you were not there for dinner - in this case, a different phrasing could be: I had gone and would not be there for dinner, or, I had gone at dinner time.
