Yes just make sure you have a lid to the tank with some type of lock to hold the top down or else they can get out pretty easily. ( I had experience lol) also make sure you have good bedding and i would recommend getting a small animal tank heater and put it under its homing area where it sleeps

(also called teddy bear hamster) However, these hamsters are extremely difficult to breed, being that Syrian hamsters are solitary creatures, and they live alone. The easiest hamster to breed is the dwarf hamster. There are several species of dwarf hamsters, but my favorite is the campbells dwarf. Since they can live in groups, you should just get two of the opposite sex, place them in their cage, and let nature take its course. In some cases, the father can be a great help in rearing the babies, but to be safe, you should probably take the male out after mating has occured. The babies will be born within 18-20 days, although a bit longer is not uncommon. with Syrian hamsters, you have to be very careful with breeding. If the female is not in heat, or oestrus, she will most likely attack the male. Also, mating cannot be done in the females cage.
