Yes it's safe, but always supervise your chi with the baby. Let your chi sniff her blankets and car seat...all the things with her smell. My chi is very protective of me and doesn't do well with new people, so when my grand daughter was born I worried about what would happen. Much to my suprise, she watched the baby from afar and everyonce in awhile would get close for a quick sniff. Eight months later the two are play buddies, my chi will bring one of her balls or toys to Eisley for her to throw or play tug with. The other day Eisley had milk on her chin from her bottle, my chi cleaned her face with little puppy licks.
