I have been taking Wellbutrin and Klonopin together for many years. They work well together and have helped me a lot. I have PTSD, depression and anxiety disorder. I have been through so many meds over the years that now I won't try any other combinations - I feel best on these 2. I am not a zombie and now function very well. My depression and anxiety is under control. I take Wellbutrin (450mg) in the morning with 1/2 Klonopin, 1/2 Klonipin during the day and 1 &1/2 at night. The only down side to Wellbutrin is that it can affect your sex drive but that is true of most antidepressants.
Alcohol, sedatives, other benzodiazepines (Valium, Klonopin, Ativan, etc.), opiates (Percocet, Vicodin, Codeine, Morphine, Hydromorphone, etc.), other prescription painkillers (propoxyphene, fentanyl, etc.), CNS depressants and barbituates (butylbarbital, phenobarbital, etc.)
If you can\'t pass a drug test for marijuana, it will have nothing to do with taking Klonopin or Wellbutrin. Marijuana can take up to six weeks to leave a persons body.
Benzodiazepine found in anti-depressants such as Diazepam (Valium), Alprazolam (Xanax) and Clonazepam (Klonopin)
Klonopin overdoes alone doesn't kill (if not involved another cns depressants like alcohol, opioids and barbiturates). Klonopin withdrawal can kill from seizures, however.
See a Psychopharmacologist. He may prescribe something like Clonazepam (Klonopin).
1. Why aren't you asking your doctor this question? 2. According to the doctor who prescribed Wellbutrin and Klonopin to me, yes, it is OK.
There are so many medication out there to treat anxiety. In my opinion practicing in the Psych field is a shot in the dark. You try one medication and it may work or the patient may not be able to tolerate it. It usually takes about 6 months for bipolar patients to get the right cocktail. Meds are administered depending on the severity of your condition. Some patients just take a tranquilizer, others take an antidepressant and a tranquilizer. You just have to find what works for you. Tranquilizers: Klonopin, Ativan, Xanax, Valium Anti Depressants: Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, Wellbutrin I've only listed a few in each category. There has been much success with the SSRI Anti Depressants the only downside is you don't feel the full therapeutic effect for about 8 weeks. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is also recommended again depending on the severity of your condition. You learn how to breath through the panic attacks/anxiety, triggers, and how to manage stress.
PLease, PLease, PLease ask you doctor or pharm.D before taking any medications!!!
It should be fine. Wellbutrin is commonly combined with ssri's like Prozac to augment them in the case of treatment resistant depression, and depakote xanax and klonopin all affect a different neurotransmitter system. I was on wellbutrin 300 mg, lexapro (an ssri) 10 mg and depakote at one point and was fine. Check with your doctor and check in a drug interaction checker like on webmd. But it seems redunant and possibley dangerous combining xanax and klonopin as they are both in the same drug class and depakote effects the same neurotransmitter system, GABA, as xanax and klonopin. Especially at the 1000mg dose it doesn't seem like the xanax and klonopin are needed. Too much GABA activity can cause brain damage and lower your blood pressure to dangerous lows possibley causing death. Again check with your doctor.
If indicated yes, but they may prescribe a reduced dosage to avoid potential problems.
no. barbiturates are like xanax, klonopin & valium... sleeping pills are not in the same category although a Dr may prescribe a barbiturate to help aod with your insomnia, sleeping troubles or whatever problems you are having. or the Dr may prescribe both a sleep aid & low dose of a barbiturate. but be very careful mixing ANYTHING like that without talking to your doctor first. some drugs do NOT mix well together & you may wanna get a good night's rest but you DON'T wanna over do it & end up sleeping forever. be careful & talk to you Dr before taking ANYTHING especially when combining different medications that are sedatives.
Benzotropine or Cogentin is prescribed by psychiatrists to treat Parkinson's Disease like side effects such as stiff muscles. But the benzodiazepine called Clonazepam or Klonopin takes away the bad feelings or inner tension and torment from Haldol rapidly. Unfortunately psychiatrists are usually unwilling to prescribe Klonopin to treat side effects of antipsychotics such as Haldol.
