The reason being that these drugs treat the symptom, and not the root of the problem. In addition, the side-effects many drugs have can be worse than the actual original problem!

This is a long-term cure, so patience is required. But it is much preferable to the quick fix of artificial chemical drugs.
I just came from the doctors office. I had a head cold that settled in my ears and lungs. The doctor prescribed Meclizine 25mg and said that if I have any more panic attack or anxiety symptoms that is was O.K. to take .5mg of lorazapam.
