Depends on the agency and industry but in general "YES" it is an extremely stressful career.

I moved up from Designer (stressful!), to Sr. Designer (more stressful!) and now Art Director (melt down stressful at times!) All at a busy advertising agency in a city that is over saturated with creative talent, which doesn't help the stress levels.

If you lack a thick skin and have a hard time managing stress, I suggest you look else ware for a career.
