No it is not true. Hitler never gained enough votes (43.9% in March 1933) to become President of Germany. However, after Hindenburg was elected, Hitler was appointed as Chancellor. This is where he was able to make reforms, most notably the Enabling Act, which gave him power over the President. Thus with the help of the SA (brownshirts) he was able to seize control of Germany after Hindenburg died a year later. After Hitler was successfully in control, he had the SA eliminated in the Rohm Putsch (aka Night of the Long Knives, aka Operation Hummingbird) and the SS became the dominant military/police force protecting Hitlers position.

Yes, this is true.

Hitler started out very small, and held loads of discussions.

People looked up to him because he wasn't afraid to discuss things, even with "important" people. And they liked his ideas of getting rid of the fact that there were a lot of people without a job in Germany.

What he didn't tell them, was that the jobs he had for them, were in the war industry.
