The older you are, the more sense it makes to keep track of how hard you're working out. You can't aim for the same peak heartrate at 40 as you could at 20. But unless you have a medical reason to be careful, you should still push as hard (within your ability) as a younger person would push (within his ability).
Absolutely not true. Those of us over 40 should perform whatever level of exercise we are capable of doing.

People who are healing from a collapsed lung should not exercise. They should stay calm and relaxed and not get over excited.

Possibly, but you should consult a medical professional first. The regimen is designed for those over the age of 18. There are several medical reasons why younger adolescents should avoid excessive strenuous exercise, which are the same considerations given for those in school athletic programs.
No. Any exercise, but particularly cardiovascular exercise...aerobic (anything that makes you out of breath) with strengthen the heart muscle, making the heart more efficient. Blood pressure will temporarily rise during exercise, but should return to normal when you stop. Some exercises can put unneccessary pressure on the heart , like weight lifting or squash - really strenuous activities. If your blood pressure is very high (over 180 systolic) you should consult a doctor before doing any exercise. If you are mildly hypertensive (130-140) or less it should be safe to do exercise.

There are Zumbatonics classes for 4-12yr olds. I took my granddaughter to a couple of my Zumba classes when she visited me this summer. She enjoyed it but found it strenuous. This had more to do with her seditary lifestyle. After all, I am over 60 and do 4 classes a week. I think it is a great way to get children to exercise. Music they can relate to and gives them confidence.

During strenuous exercise, lactic acid or 2-hydroxypropanoic acid is formed. Lactic acid buildup occurs during strenuous exercise, the body is incapable of removing the waste product from the muscle tissue. When lactic acid buildups it creates a burning sensation, however over recent years and studies, scientists have been doing more research on the acid and believe that is actually doesn't cause or increase muscle soreness but rather is an important fuel source for active muscles. But, more research is needed in this particular field for more definitive proof and information to be discovered.
