In mythical stories why did the mermaids try and wreck the ships?
It is believed that the mermaids or some called them sirens,used to sing to the sailors and lure them over towards the rocks and the ship would get crash and the sailors would drown but it is unsure if this is true. But it is believed that the mermaids/sirens would do this only for the purpose of seeing the men suffer but it is unknown what they did with the body's.

I sometimes want to believe they're real but... Mermaids have water powers such as controling water, freezing water, and heating water. Mermaids have a regular human body from the waist up, but their lower portion is turned into a fish tail when they touch water for atleast 10 seconds.
