depends on what you want it for...

For watching movies, then no, you won't notice the difference over 720p at that size of screen.

For playing 3d games, then yes, the highest resolution that your system can support, the better. Games don't have unlimited "anti-aliasing" like tv or movies, so you will notice the jaggies more on lower resolutions. Also, higher res helps you to make out smaller distant "enemies" on the screen easier. It makes a difference.

The higher res will also give you more desktop real estate. If you find the icons or type too small, you can enlarge them.

This question gets asked a lot on the internet and the unanimous answer is NO. They cite the common TV resolutions vs. screen size, as if its the same thing, end of story. But they give little thought to the actual differences in a tv and a computer's uses and abilities.

An obvious downside on a laptop is a higher res screen will go through the battery a bit quicker, i have no idea how much faster tho.

What to Do If Your Laptop has a Broken Screen?

If you have recently had an accident that resulted in your laptop having a broken screen, this can be a pretty stressful event. This does not necessarily mean that the laptop has become useless, however. What you should do in response will depend on how old your laptop is, whether or not you had a warranty, and how able you are to do some repair work of your own. For starters, we will consider the age of the laptop. Generally speaking, if a laptop is more than four years old it is not usually worth the amount of money and time that it would take to have it repaired. There may be exceptions if the laptop was very advanced when it was purchased. The same may be true if there is important or expensive software that is on the computer which can not be easily copied. In cases where your laptop is less than four years old but there is damage to parts other than the screen, it typically is not worth undergoing repairs either. If you decide that it is not worth it to undergo a repair for your broken screen, you can hook the laptop up to a desktop monitor and use it that way. If you do decide to have the broken screen repaired, the first decision you will have to make is whether you will have somebody else take care of it, or do it yourself. If you have some knowledge of computers and it is possible for you to remove the screen without taking apart the entire laptop, it may be worth attempting to handle on your own. You will want to check the instructions to determine how to remove the LCD panel and find the part number. You can then order a replacement part. If you have a warranty which covers accidents, the manufacturer may take care of the problem at no cost. Otherwise, you can take it in to an electronics store, a mail-in repair company, or a local computer shop. In most cases it takes on to two weeks for the repair to take place, because even local shops will need to order in the parts.

Is petz 5 compatible on windows 7?

It will work, but if you're using a screen size larger or smaller than 1024x768 you will experience some graphical bugs that may or may not affect you gameplay. For example, the petz will have no eyes. The only currently known solution to this is changing your screen resolution, but if you love your petz so much, then it will be worth it. This can turn out to be a minor annoyance if you are using a resolution larger than that.

Is the HP dv2000 a good laptop?

After reviewing comments from CNET users, it would appear that the laptop in question has both pros and cons. In the pros seem to be price, size and portability, and durability. Cons are small battery life, small screen, and poor cooling system. The only way you will know if this laptop is personally worth purchasing is if the specifications are what you are looking for, and the downsides aren't enough to make you wish you had a different laptop.
