Humans are capable of doing things which most of the species on earth are unable to do.So we are actually the king of our food chain.With this comes the responsiblity to protect our food chain.It is rather obvious that if we think of animals as low lifes and deprive them of their rights it will distort our system.I believe that animals have their rights that humans should support and any cruelty to animals is cruelty to humanity and all our future generations.
Answer # 2It's not wrong, it's just uninformed. In the US, any being must have legal responsibilities in order to be granted rights. Animals do not have the intelligence to comprehend anything in the way of responsibility, only their natural instincts. Therefore, it would be irresponsible to award them rights, other than the right to basic good care.
