ITCACHI is good he just wanted him to be stronger so he made him have hatred so he would train to kill his brother. Itachi was ordered to kill his clan by the elder basically danzo. so he told the 3 hokage to protect Sasuke. the reason was that his clan was mad at the leaf village so they were planing an attack so Itachi was the spy for the village in his clan. he picked the safety over his village than the uchia clan and he loved sasuke so much he put sasuke's life before the village and his own life ( Itachi ). hope this helps
