How do you choose one monotheistic religion when there are several with equal validity and what makes that one true and all others false?

First of all, there is no reason you must choose a monotheistic religion, since there is nothing that makes monotheistic religions inherently superior to polytheistic religions such as Hinduism or some forms of Buddhism. You could, if you wish, broaden your research. Each of the Abrahmic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) is monotheistic, as are Zoroastrianism, Sikhism and others. And each claims to be the true religion. The validity of each monotheistic religion, in fact of all religions, is a matter of faith, and faith alone. In spite of earnest protestations, there is no available evidence to show that one such religion is more true than any of the others. Some say that all are false. You should simply choose a religion that you feel comfortable with, but you will never be able to know whether that was the most 'true' choice.

What is name of city and country of religion of judaism?

In 2010, Judaism is practiced in at least 135 countries of the world. Its adherents number about 0.2% of the world's population. There is no country in the world where Judaism is the official state religion. Yes, I know about Israel. The statement is still true.

What was the first monotheistic religion?

Zoroastrianism was the first monotheistic religion, believed to have been founded in southern Russia around 1700-2000 BCE. Akhenaten, pharaoh of Egypt from about 1353 to 1336 BCE, also introduced a monotheistic religion, but it did not last beyond his death. Monotheistic Judaism was introduced by King Josiah of Judah during the seventh century BCE. Answer 2: The first monotheistic religion was Judaism, from Abraham onward. For Jews, that is a religious truth and is stated by Maimonides based on the Torah and tradition. There is no consensus on when Zoroaster lived. Also, the Talmud (Sanhedrin 39a) states that Zoroastrianism has two gods. Answer 3 The oldest monotheistic religion was Atenism, the ancient Egyptian sun worshipping cult. It was propagated by the pharaoh Akhenaten in 1346 BC. The sun god Aten was worshiped as early as 2000 BC, but it is unlikely to have had monotheistic followers long before Akhenaten. Judaism is indeed old, perhaps older than Atenism, but it was not monotheistic until 587 BC, when Solomon's temple was destroyed, and the Jews were exiled. It was a monolatrist religion prior to that, meaning they only worshiped one god, but they recognized the existence of other gods (mainly Babylonian deities). Islam claims to be the oldest monotheism, but hardly any historians or archaeologists agree. Answer 4 The oldest monotheistic religion still in existence today is Judaism. Zoroastrianism is unlikely to be older than Judaism, but it might be older than the monotheistic phase of Judaism. However, Zoroastrianism is by most standards a duotheism. Answer 5 Judaism, the oldest of the monotheistic religions, is 3,500 years old.

What is monotheism?

Monotheism is a belief in only one God. Probably the earliest formal monotheistic religion was Zoroastrianism, in which the God is known as Ahura Mazda ('Wise Lord'). Other monotheistic religions followed, including the monotheistic Egyptian religion briefly introduced by the Pharaoh Akhenaten, then Judaism, Christianity and Islam, among others. There is some evidence of quite early monotheistic worship of a fertility goddess in pre-historic times.

Which religion Zoroastrianism or Judaism is the oldest?

Historically, Judaism became the descendant religion of the early Hebrew religion, which was founded on the Canaanite religion of the ancestors of the Hebrews.Keel and Uehlinger (Gods, Goddesses and Images of God in Ancient Israel) say there were no strict boundaries between the Israelite/Judahite religion and that of its neighbours at the end of the ninth century and during the eighth century. At this stage, YHWH entered the Hebrew religion and was soon adopted as the national God, while maintaining a polytheistic pantheon, and so yhe Hebrew religion began diverging from its roots. The religion of Judah was becoming monolatrous in the late monarchy, or from about the eighth century BCE, and this could be regarded as the beginning of a truly ethnic religion that we might now call Judaism. Monotheism was to arrive around the time of the Babylonian Exile.Zoroastrianism is considered to have begun in southern Russia around 1700 BCE, before migrating to eastern Iran and then eventually to western Iran, where it would become the state religion of the Persian Empire.
