Leptospirosis is dangerous for any dog! Many strands are also contagious to humans and other pets too. Get your dog to a vet for blood work before his liver and/or kidneys are affected. Make sure to isolate him from other animals and wear gloves when handling him. The vet should also run a lepto-titer. But be aware that a titer may test negative for 10-14 days after infected. Depending on the severity of the animal's condition, it may need iv therapy with antibiotics to treat. Our shih-tzu was hospitalized for a week, it was very pricey but he survived. Over the course of 48 hours, he stopped eating and wouldn't get up. It came on really fast and he was a very sick little dog for quite a while. Good Luck!!
No my mini dachshund doesnt...

mini dachshunds get to about a quarter of a meter maybe a bit bigger

One can buy a mini-Dachshund from a pet store when this type of special dog is available. Mini-Dachshunds may also be purchased directly from a breeder. Newspapers often list advertisements in the pet section which are posted by individuals who are selling Mini-Dachshunds.
Yes I have a mini shnauzer named Tank who shakes when he sleeps due to nightmares.
8 inches. however dachshunds aren't very good for agility due to their long backs. All that jumping around can cause later problems or none at all it depends on that particular dog's genetics.
Standard dachshunds are becominfg less and less common as the need for mini dogs arises. I have been able to locate several standards through the classified adds. Be sure to make sure they care for their dogs, and meet thr parents. good luck!
There is no way to answer this question without a personal opion, I have a Dachshund/Beagle mix and my dog is amazing. Both breeds are hunting usually dachshunds are a little bit small for standard and even smaller than that for mini. It depends on your personal need of one
