No. Life is not pointless for gay people. We can get married and/or adopt children. We can have children naturally as well. We can choose to remain single. We can work to make the world a better place. We can do anything straight people can do.
So that they can form friendships and interact with people to have a healthy social-life.
people want people to respect their guide to life as an equal person
If you do it, yes it is. Pointless, perhaps, but then so much of real life is pointless!

Older people deserve respect because they have lived long life serving our family and society

Because at some point in this life, you're going to need to bum a ride.Life is harsh, we need people caring about each other. If I respect you, it is less likely that I will do something to make life harder for you. I would hope that you feel the same about me.
