Magic is one of many components of several Pagan spiritual paths, mine included.
Spells are one of many ways magic is done.
Potions are usually formulations of plant materials, in a base. Not all potions are magical in nature, and not all potions are intended for human consumption.
Some of the herbs and other plant materials used in healing, ours and in traditional healing (digitalis from the foxglove is a well known example) are listed as poisonous, and yet used correctly, by the hand of a practiced healer can treat Heart disease.
Poisons are not the exclusive bailiwick of practitioners of magic.
