Is my goldfish dying if it's lays on the bottom and only swims to the top to eat?

No your Goldfish is not dying because when it lays on the bottom it might want some rest or just trying to sleep, and maybe its just tired but i don't think its dying, it will soon get better, trust me look after it like me because if you do it may live for a year, mine did for more than one years...but now its dead.

∙ 16y agoGoldfish sit on the tank bottom when they sleep or feel unwell. One reason can be when their water is too acidic, so it may be useful to test the water for both pH and nitrites regularly. Also, maintain good tank hygiene and change one third of the water every week or two. Check the fish for any abnormalities on their body, or in the way they swim. If you notice anything unusual, ask your aquarium supply shop for the right treatment.

∙ 13y agoOh...you should probably do something soon. My goldfish died soon after he was swimming on the bottom and wasn't moving that much.
My goldfish died before I could do anything to help him. This makes me sad, and I hope your goldfish gets well soon.
Try to add some aquarium salt to your aquarium, one tablespoon per five gallons. If your fish doesn't improve, ask me on my message board and I'll try to help.
