Theologically speaking there is no reason why you couldn't name your child satan. The word basically means enemy, in the biblical context enemy of man kind. However if your child is going to grow up in western society when that word is charged with all sorts of other meanings it would be a cruel thing to do. It might effect his treatment by others as a child and an adult too if he didn't change his name.
