South side is full more industrialized and improved, rather north side has better beaches more natural wealth and more quite. In southern part touristic areas you cannot sleep well and you can not rest. However in south you find quite and happy life (and 30000 Turkish troops that keep that part enslaved and give some taste of "Midnight express" to whoever want to make noise).
better farming than the south
rgsgr
south high is better than north high in everything.........
The South had better generals than the North did at the time.
The main languages in Cyprus are Greek, Turkish and English, although far fewer Turks in the North speak English than do Greeks in the South. The currency is now the Euro, which was adopted by Cyprus in c.2006, replacing the Cyprus Pound and the Cyprus Cent.
because the type of weather in the south was better than the north and it was better for people to farm and do plantion there then anywere else
Considering the the national curreny of Cyprus is the Euro, it would be better to use Euros in Cyprus than British Pounds.
Much less inbreeding....
The Union (North) had much better infrastructure than the Confederacy (South) did.
In 1960, Cyprus gained independence from British rule, but only after plans for 'enosis' or union with Greece, was abandoned by both Greek and Turkish Cypriots. However, tensions grew to such an extent that in 1974, the Greek military junta removed President Makarios from office, and just days later Turkish forces occupied the northern side of the island to protect the Turkish Cypriot population. As the island divided, approximately 160,00 Greek Cypriots fled south, and 50,000 Turkish Cypriots fled north. In 1983, the north declared independence and established the Turkish republic of North Cyprus, or TRNC. In the last three years, leaders on both sides have made positive progress towards a resolution of their differences, despite the rejection of the UN Annan Plan for reunification put forward in 2004. Since 1974, the UN has maintained the border between the two countries, known as the Green Line. After many years of effective isolation, the border is now open, so tourists and local alike can travel freely between north and south Cyprus. Tourist can fly into North Cyprus' own international airport, Ercan, or fly into the south Republic of Cyprus Larnaca airport and drive over the border. South Cyprus is a member of the EU, whilst North Cyprus is not. The currency in south Cyprus is the Euro, whilst the Turkish lira is used in North Cyprus, with the effect that prices in the north are about a third less than in the south.
i will rather live in north Italy then south. this is because the north is richer and it has good transport and it is more better than south!
Yes. However, because the island is divided between independent Cyprus in the south and Turkish-Occupied North Cyprus (TRNC) in the north, crossing the border at Nicosia is probably the best way to do it. It is also much easier to cross into Cyprus from TRNC than the reverse. Additionally, it would take a long time, around 55 hours of ceaseless walking.
