I think she is a little selfish about her definition of what he should be, but also very creative and determined to find something to be that includes the other. And in the end she chooses to be something, and let him decide for himself, even though in other choices he didn't seem to allow her the same freedom (not letting her grow). I know of a woman that this happened to and I remember it had something to do with those sticks of pocket vicks inhalers. There is some ingredient in it that is something-meth-something...to long of a name for me to remember right off the top of my head, but it DID cause a false-positive.
