There are no nuclear power plants in Colorado. The only source of waste might be from a small teaching or medical isotope reactor, I have no information on this.

How is holding nuclear waste good for the coomunity?
The government and companies will pay states and cities money
for using their land for storage of nuclear waste. Nuclear waste
can be dangerous, but when stored safely it is no danger. Nuclear
waste is produced by nuclear power plants, which produce large
amounts of cheap electricity.

Does Nuclear fission as used in nuclear power plants produces radioactive waste with long half lives?
yes, Nuclear fission as used in nuclear power plants produces
radioactive waste with long half lives. However, this creates no
problems. This wastes are either confined in the spent nuclear fuel
(that is stored either in wet storage or in dry storage facilities)
or stored as vitrified nuclear waste.

Where can nuclear waste be found?
Most USA nuclear waste is stored in nuclear power plants, until
something better can be found. Other countries have a tendency to
put their nuclear waste in barrels and drop them into the deep

What has been done with nuclear waste?
The honest answer is the USA has been producing a great deal of
nuclear waste and ignoring the problem of what to do with it.
President Obama wants more nuclear power plants, but, has not said
what to do with nuclear waste.
A lot of waste is stored in nuclear power plants, but, they are
getting filled up fast, and that is not really a good idea. The
possibility of an accident or theft is very real.

Why is it bad to generate electricity using nuclear power?
It is not bad to generate electricity using nuclear power.
However, there are concerns some people have with nuclear power, in
particular with the side effects of it. In the process of
generating electricity nuclear fuel is used up and left as what is
called nuclear waste. This waste is very radioactive and a danger
to living things for upwards of 10000 years. This waste must be
stored, and debates about where and how it should be stored can
lead people to...
