Yes in that the book does contain various occult and folk practices (and also some fluff). Yes also in that witch and wizard are basically synonymous in most circles, but really it depends on who you ask. So yes...sort of.

No, these are not exactly the same although they have some similarity. Pagan religions are those which existed in Europe prior to the conversion of Europe to Christianity (Judaism, which did exist in Europe prior to Christianity and which is the ancestral religion which gave rise to Christianity, is an exception). Witchcraft refers to various occult practices disapproved of by the church, and which may also involve Satanism. The distinction between an eary religion such as Druidism and occultism is often vague.

The word Druid, although lost in antiquity, is thought to derive from "forest sage" or "strong seer". A counsellor, philosopher, teacher, sage, judge, and magician, the Druid class were often seen as figures of authority in matters of law and ceremony. Although the notion of Druids as priests still remains, the evidence shows rather that they were more likely Philosophers; highly regarded nonetheless.

Witch on the other hand is not so clear cut. While the origins of Druidry can be traced to pre-roman Europe (mainly the Celtic lands), Witchcraft citations are found all over the globe. One thing they have in common however, is the notion of an under class. In contrast to privileged Druids who were held in high regard and exempt from taxes and warfare, witches were most often of the lower classes, working with instinct and knowledge gained from centuries of repetition rather than education.

Witches are practitioners of "Witchcraft", a word of uncertain etymology but most commonly thought to refer to the 'craft of the wise', which includes healing, mysticism, magick, ritual, herbcraft and other arts. As such they may be from any religious or spiritual denomination, or none at all. Comparatively, Druids are members of the Druidic religion, subject to a code of conduct, hierarchy, and strict system of education.

Modern Druids and witches for the most part share celebration of the ancient agricultural festivals, most notably the fire festivals Samhain, Imbolc, Beltaine, and Lughnasad, along with the winter and summer solstices.

So while some Druids may choose to practise Witchcraft, and some witches may be Druids, the two are not mutually exclusive.

Witchcraft and black magic are commonly used interchangeably by people who do not know the difference. However they are vastly different.

Witchcraft is the practice of one of a large group of spiritual paths found under the collective term Paganism.

Black magic is a concept dreamed up by members of an organised religion to vilify people who did not follow the church's edicts.

It has always been easier for people to hate, harm, accuse, and kill people they have been told do evil things, no matter if they are innocent of all but believing differently.

Paganism in modern times is an umbrella term for any nature based religion or set of beliefs and practises. Historically a "Pagan" was a country dweller, or one who comes from the heath. Is witchcraft a tradition in paganism?

ya its part of it. In some of the branches of Paganism you can and do find people who use witchcraft as part of their spiritual path, however it is a personal choice and not all use it. To use an old mathematical formula... All Witchcraft is Pagan, but not all Paganism is Witchcraft.

Do they have a book with spells in the public library?

Most major public libraries have a Pagan/Witchcraft section, but it depends on where you are. You are more likely to find a Pagan/Witchcraft section in or near the city as apposed to a nearby rural area's library. If you arent sure if your library has such a section, you can either as a librarian or you can go to the consoles and type in what you want. If that proves fruitless, you can always buy witchcraft books on Amazon.

Which burn herb can put a witchcraft away from you?

Actually burning herbs for protection would BE witchcraft, so I guess the answer is none. The best protection from witchcraft would be the realisation that it isn't real.A Pagan PerspectiveOther than the misconception that witchcraft does not exist, the above if one of the best answers I've come across in years. If you are not a practitioner of witchcraft, your best protection is your own faith.

What year was witchcraft discovered?

Witchcraft stems from the Pagan religion- one of the first religions. It's more than just casting spells, and it is NOT about satanism. I highly suggest you do more research on witchcraft and Paganism than what ever you find on this website- google is a wonderful guide! :)

What is the difference between Witchcraft and Paganism?

Answer plus some...A basic answer is Witchcraft is a sub-religion of Paganism. Just how the general religion is Christian but the sub-religions are like Methodist, Catholic, Baptist, Seventh Day Adventest, etc...I would like to add that the term Pagan is believed to be a term used to describe to local poor/country dwellers who chose to worship the old Gods. Many religions fall under the term "Pagan" or "Non-Christian": Native American, Buddist, Wicca, Witchcraft, Unitarian... read the following link to learn more about the term Pagan see link below.AnswerPaganism is a naturally evolved spiritual instinct. Witchcraft is a religion. Pagans have a love and respect for their natural surroundings and mother earth. I call it a spiritual instinct instead of a religion as many pagans would argue that paganism isn't a religion in itself. However there are many religions under the pagan umbrella, Druidism is a pagan religion,Wicca is a pagan religion. Native American beliefs are pagan and so on. Most religions which are based around nature and natural beliefs are considered pagan. Witchcraft is a specific religion although little evidence of how it was practiced in the past exists . Because all witches are pagan modern witches have pieced their beliefs together from past down knowledge and borrowing from other pagan belief systems that seem similar. 'Pagan' is like 'Christian' in the sense that pagans belive in mother nature and the power of the earth, there are many religious paths stemming from this. Christians belive in God and the power of Jesus christ, there are many religious paths stemming from this, catholic, Baptist, evangelical e.t.c. ANSWERbasically, all wiccans, or witches are pagan, and or harness the nautre that pagans believe inbutnot all pagans are witches,/wiccans or do spells/magicTruth:Witchcraft is a practice, a tool. Not a religion. There ARE religions that utilitize magick and witchcraft - such as Wicca. But not all witches have a religious base and they certainly aren't all pagan.Paganism is an umbrella term to refer to many non-Abrahamic faiths - like Druidism, Wicca, Asatru, etc.

Are all witches wiccans?

Not necessarily. There can be Witches who are not followers of Wicca. And one can follow and practice only the Wiccan rituals without using the Witchcraft. There are many Wiccans who Practice Witchcraft. It is like two intersecting sets in a Venn diagram. There are also Pagan Witches, Neo-Pagan Witches, Eclectic Witches, Satanic Witches and many more..

What are pagans?

Pagans are individuals who follow a polytheistic or nature-based spiritual belief system, typically not adhering to the major world religions like Christianity, Islam, or Judaism. They often worship multiple deities and have diverse practices depending on their traditions and beliefs.
