6.5 would acidic, being a Ph of 7 is neutral. Keep in mind or, as I did, write it down a Ph < than 7 is acidic and > than 7 is basic (alkaline)

How do you open saltwater pool at the start of summer?

Opening a fiberglass pool really is not any different from any other pool. If the water is clear brush the walls, vacuum the pool and then shock it with 1 pound of 65% available chlorine calcium hypochlorite per 10,000 gallons of pool water mix the shock in a 5 gallon plastic bucket and then pour the liquid into the pool do not let the granules get into the pool they can bleach the surface of the pool. Then take a water sample to your favorite swimming pool store so that they can balance the pool water for you. I would also recommend the addition of a stain and scale inhibitor to protect against cobolting.

How warm will an unheated pool likely get in Florida in Jan Feb Mar it is a 21 ft salt water pool has a solar cover and is screened in?

Well it all depends...usually in Florida the day temps are warm but the nights are cold and thats what makes the water cold. The water temps are usually in the 50s and maybe low 60s at the beaches so it would probably range from 55-65 degrees in a unheated pool. March may get alittle warmer but still could be in the 60s in the unheated pool which is cold for me

What percent to run the pool chlorinator?

It depends on how much you're planning on using the pool. I'm the pool operator at the YMCA and we have a salt pool which is kept between 55-65%, but that's with 2000 swimmers per week. You may want to try around 15%, then adjust from there.
