There is 2 freeze plugs between the rear of the engine and the transmission. The freeze plugs are in the back of the engine block. Do not bother the big plug that is in the center of the block, That is the cam plug NOT A FREEZE PLUG. YOu will either have to pull the transmission are the engine to replace those 2 plugs.

Removing the starter and exhaust manifold provides much needed access. Getting the old freeze plug out can be difficult. Sometimes you can beat one side of it with a big screwdriver or something and rotate the plug enough to get a pair of channel locks or vise-grips on it and remove it. Put a little shellac compound or similar sealant on the new freeze plug and beat it into the hole with the biggest socket that will fit into the plug. Sometimes a short extension will help.

Drain the coolant first. Now take a hammer and a chisel and put chisel on 1 side of the freeze plug and hit it with the hammer. It will turn the plug sideways in the block and then pull the plug out with something. Now clean and sand the block hole real good. Get a big socket that will fit in the new plug and put some yellow weather striping RTV around the new plug and then drive it back in the block with a hammer until it is flush with the block all the way around. THATS IT YOUR DONE.
