soap can be poison to hamsters depending on what kind it is....... you should never use soap on your hamsters .....only if they have toxics or anything not good for them on the if that is the case you take a wet cloth with a pea drop size of dish soap (not the kind for the dish washer) and rub it in and then rinse with a wet cloth and dry with another towel hope this helps:)
Well I'm not to sure you can but maybe.. Try going to some pet store that sells shampoo for animals.. This might sound weird but me and my mom make a bath for my 28lb cat lol. he actually likes it and he is used to it.. But WE DO NOT USE regular shampoo OR hand soap because of his skin and the oils on his fur. With kitty shampoo it doesn't dry up the skin and take all the oils out of his fur ( this most likely the same as a hamster) ...
** TO MAKE SURE i would most definitely would go to a pet store, ask one of the workers there if its okay to buy animal shampoo because the hand soap might irritate your hamsters skin.**
I'm not sure but it wouldbe better to use a hamster disinfectant from your local pet store
