Is something wrong with your fighter fish if you noticed he has white all around his mouth and 1 of his gills?

yes. take a good look at the white areas. they will either look cottony or they won't. go to the pet store and find medication for the problem, there are all kinds, so read the containers carefully. i have had fish that developed these kinds of white areas too. you need to medicate if you want it to live.
