It provides direct energy, so before working out it would be good. But don't take too much, sucrose is a sugar and too much sugar can screw up your blood sugar levels and cause Diabetes. Sucrose is fine, but in moderation, and when you're obese, try to eat less of it because your risk of developing diabetes might be high.
